The River Collective is a network of students, researchers, artists, and activists that all have one thing in common: a love of rivers. Healthy and free-flowing rivers play an essential role in preserving biodiversity and sustaining healthy living environments, especially in times of a rapidly changing climate. In order to promote healthy rivers, we aim to establish a strong collaboration between the world of science and local river conservation. We establish these connections through our various events.
Students for Rivers Camps
Week-long gathering of students and experts from diverse backgrounds to turn knowledge into action for the protection of rivers.
The Home River Bioblitz
A worldwide citizen-science event where bioblitz organisers engage their local communities through exploring their home rivers. This global collaboration creates a snapshot of river biodiversity.
River Collective Members
The River Collective is an association that has both individual and business members. We encourage and support River Collective members in the creation of their own projects. For example the 3.5 meter long ‘Through the Eye of a River’ book, filled with illustrations of five rivers around the world, and an audio documentary series ‘Hidden Ecologies’ on rivers around Europe.
Thanks to our business members, our individual members have the opportunity to organise events and initiate their own projects, and we are very thankful to all these members that together build an interdisciplinary river community. Want to become a member? Head over to our support page 🙂
