What is your motivation for joining the River Collective Team?
Irreversible loss of the part of the river I grew up on, in whose water I swam and on whose banks I carelessly played.
Why should we defend these wild rivers?
We should always keep in mind it’s not just people, but billions of other creatures as well, that can’t exist without freshwater. In times of tremendous destruction of nature, wild rivers are especially fragile. They are too often seen as the most efficient and profitable source of energy, which is horribly superficial.
If we don’t defend wild rivers, it’s not gonna be “just” about specific species, ecosystems, drinkable water, breathtaking beauty. We’ll let go of unique mechanisms that can restore life like nothing else can. And what will be human nature without nature?
