Monitoring on the Kafue River in Zambia
The project is to set up a river monitoring scheme on the Kafue River in Zambia north of the Itezhi-Tezhi reservoir.
The Kafue river is a tributary of the Zambezi and drains the intense copper mining operations in the Copperbelt region in northern Zambia. Our project would provide critical data for a modelling effort to quantify the “chemical footprint” of copper mining in river systems.
